Barcelona-born chef, Alain Devahive gives life to the gastronomic creations. Alain hopes to deliver his international experience and exploratory gastronomy to the customers of LALUZ.
As a young boy, Chef Alain Devahive spent much of his time in the kitchen with his grandmother, where he remembers being transfixed by the movement of her hands and the symphony of aromas and flavours that she created and re-created every time.
Fast forward to today, Alain’s culinary techniques, some of which are unique to the world of molecular gastronomy, have in turn transfixed an international audience of chefs and food-lovers. The Barcelona-born chef honed his craft with a number of positions in Michelin starred restaurants throughout Spain and France. Most notably, Alain spent a decade working in the kitchens of the world-famous three Michelin starred restaurant elBulli, arguably the best restaurant in the world, before taking a more behind-the-scenes role at elBullitaller, the restaurant’s food research laboratory. Alain’s position within a culinary team with such high prestige placed him at the forefront of the culinary world, where he gained unparalleled creative and technical experience.
Post elBulli, Alain put his experience to good use and consulted on a number of high profile restaurant openings in his home country. Such is the belief that, with genuine passion, an open mind and a good dose of creativity, anyone can surprise and entice the palette. As such, Alain has imparted his knowledge and wealth of experience to packed lecture halls around the world. For Alain, the last 10 years have provided him with the opportunity to work with diverse companies dedicated to the technical and technological development in the world of creative gastronomy.
Alain, in recent decades, claims to have observed what he calls a historic revolution in the kitchen – the apparition of a new breed of chefs bringing with them their non-conformity and yearning for freedom in their culinary pursuits. Alain spent his most recent years in Singapore, where he aimed to spread the rich gastronomic traditions of his birthplace, Catalunya, and stir up a culinary revolution in the Far East with his latest creations. Now, Alain comes to Dubai, bringing with him his trailblazing attitude to gastronomy and his ambition to transform Dubai’s culinary landscape. With his prolific experience garnered through years of service, his creative eye for dishes and cutting-edge approach to cuisine, he is the perfect man to deliver the excellence expected from the Tragaluz Group’s restaurants.
LALUZ Restaurant & Lounge is a stunning, attractive, luxurious, dynamic, warm yet welcoming place; a space that adapts well to both daylife and nightlife through the use of a variety of entertaining effects.
The Barcelona based Grupo Tragaluz uses the organic ornamentation, noble materials, gold metals, natural stones and geometric figures to reinterpret the luxury, coziness and elegance we seek for the place as well as the modern and contemporary elements on the ground such as modern tables, chairs and other decoration elements.
The interior design is a very important element of the concept as it captures the client’s attention at first sight. The interior design is signed by Tarruella Trenchs Studio, famously awarded around the world.
The graphic design was conceptualized by Mr. Mario Eskenazi, one of the world’s most prominent graphic designers. His works are studied in universities around the globe.

The whole place responds to a clear philosophy; the venue is a fantastic place for executives working in the area, either having a snack or a coffee, an informal meeting between hours or even having a gathering with friends.
